Yin Yoga is a slow-paced, meditative style of yoga. The asanas are held for longer periods of time, usually 2 to 5 minutes, applying moderate stress to the deeper, soft tissues of the body ( ligaments, tendons, fasciae).
Yin increases circulation in the joints, improves  flexibility, enhances chi (the flow of energy in the body) and calms the mind, allowing one to engage in meditation.
