In 1991 I joined a gym to change my shape. It was love at first lift! I never looked back and never stopped lifting. I have trained hundreds of clients over the years and have dedicated myself to designing safe, effective workouts for every single one of them. Focus on what your body does for you everyday! In a 30 minute training session I like to incorporate balance, strength and flexibility; I promise you will agree that 30 minutes is enough! I will teach you how to workout on your own and get the most out of your time in the gym. Learn how to workout efficiently, within your target heart rate zone. It's quality that counts, not quantity. Robert Shoop

Robert Shoop graduated from the University of North Texas with a BS in Kinesiology. After graduating, he worked with the Strength & Conditioning Coach of the NHL's Dallas Stars. and then spent 6 years working in physical medicine rehabilitation systems in both Texas and Virginia. He worked for Velocity Sports Performance and was the Assistant Speed, Strength and Conditioning Coach at William & Mary, where he was responsible for training 12 Division I teams, along with developing Tribe football's summer speed and running program. Robert was also the Assistant Director at an Indoor Sports Complex. Robert is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach recognized through the NSCA and has had articles published by a regional health journal. Lara Simms

Lara Simms has been involved in the field of fitness and training since 2004. She became certified through the International Sports and Sciences Association (ISSA) in 2007 as a Certified Fitness Trainer (CFT). She is the owner of Get Fit, Inc.

Lara is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with the National Yoga Alliance. Lara was taught the art of Asana and the philosophy of yoga from brilliant and talented teachers and a world-renowned philosopher at In-Balance Yoga School. She graduated and received her certification from In-Balance Yoga School.

Along with being a CFT and registered yoga teacher, Lara is also a Certified Youth Trainer (CYT) with ISSA and is an excellent teacher for children of any age. She is very compassionate and patient. Lara will give your child all of the knowledge they will need to live a full and healthy life. She will teach them lessons that they will one day be able to teach their own children.

Lara is constantly studying and learning more and more about this ever-changing industry and has developed an excellent method of improving people's lives. Her extended studies have given her extensive knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology. Her well-rounded education gives her the ability to provide a unique and effective approach to creating a program that will suit any client of any age or fitness level that is seeking to lose body fat, tone and shape lean muscle, as well as improve flexibility, coordination, balance and peace of mind. Sandy Rotermund

Sandy Rotermund entered the health and fitness industry in 1980. Her certifications include the American Council on Exercise, the National Arthritis Foundation, and the Aerobics and Fitness Association. She holds additional certifications in post-rehabilitation, and fitness for the older adult and those with disabilities. Sandy has trained in and coordinated fitness and weight management programs in health clubs, continuing care communities, and physical therapy practices along the east coast. Her written articles have appeared in regional publications in New York, New Jersey and Virginia. In addition, she designed the original stretching segment of the US Coast Guard's National Law Enforcement Use-of Force Training Program.

Though Sandy enjoys working with all ages, she specializes in training the Baby Boomers and older adults who have physical issues requiring a unique program tailored to those needs. Weight management consulting is also available.

Kevin Parrott

Kevin Parrott has been in the fitness industry for 31 years and WAVY-TV 10's fitness expert for 15 years. You can watch his broadcast the first Tuesday every month on the mid-day news. His passion for helping individuals reach their fitness goals is evident through his training.

Kevin has experience and knowledge in weight loss, weight gain, and sport specific training. He works with clients from age 8 to senior citizens helping them to achieve better health and sculpt their bodies. Having been a competitive bodybuilder for over 30 years, he also specializes in preparing clients for bodybuilding and figure competitions. Kevin's complete plan includes weight training, a written nutritional plan and supplementation if desired.

Carol Rudesill-Brantley

For more than 40 years, I participated in high and low impact competition sports. As a result, I began to have a lot of sciatica and piriformis problems. I then tried Pilates because I heard it was great for the back. I ended up loving it and saw the immediate benefit so much that I wanted to share Pilates with others.

I received my certification through the Physical Mind Institute in 2007 and receive continuing education credits through Balanced Body.

I believe Pilates can extend the amount of years you can participate in sports as well as every day activities by addressing poor body mechanics, weak core muscles, and poor balance.
